Marching Band

Represents Allatoona High School by performing a halftime show for all football games and by competing in marching band competitions across the state, southeast region, and country. They rehearse 2-3 days a week after school and occasionally on Saturdays.

Concert Bands

Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band and Concert Band

These classes consist of Allatoona High School woodwind, brass and percussion players. Placement is based upon auditions held in the late spring. All three groups perform concerts throughout the year as well as at select GMEA sponsored festivals.

Percussion Ensemble

This group performs percussion ensemble music at various concerts and regional events. All percussion students are encouraged to participate.

Color Guard

The color guard unit is a visual support to the marching band. Students who participate in the color guard learn to spin a flag, rifle, and saber, as well to use dance and movement to enhance the band’s performance. The color guard is the only section in the marching band to use non-band students. They may have extra practices in addition to the marching band schedule because the activity is very detailed.

A Winter Guard program is also offered.
